Commercial Real Estate & Advisory

Senior Managing Director

Jane McVerry

Jane comes to Sinvin with 20 years of experience in commercial real estate in both investment sales and retail leasing.  She began her career at Itzhaki Properties, helping with procurements such as the sale of the Moondance Diner site, now The James Hotel.  Quickly realizing her passion for retail commercial real estate, especially that of SoHo, she moved to The Lansco Corporation, strengthening her relationships and growing her network. With a tireless and thoughtful approach to uncovering every opportunity, not simply those “on” the market, Jane has been able to organize buyouts and secure sales based on intuition and foresight. In 2007, when Etro wanted a prime SoHo corner to add to their portfolio, Jane approached the owner of 89 Greene Street, a space not on the market for sale.  Using her unconventional wisdom and communication savvy, Jane organized the buyout of the existing storefront deli and secured a sale to Etro.

Jane’s professional model always involves a detailed analysis of her clients needs before developing the right opportunities and solutions to secure their success. Understanding retail from both investment sales and leasing perspectives, Jane often sells and subsequently leases a property for the new owner, such as 458 Broome Street, leased twice. The buyer of 248 Lafayette Street had been looking to lease themselves when Jane expertly negotiated the purchase of the retail coop they initially occupied for their own business. More recently, Jane leased it for them to the fashion label Maison Kitsune.

Jane favors nurturing long term relationships over the transactional elements of real estate, and with this in mind set up her own brokerage company Atria Properties LLC, active 2013-2021. She built a team of dedicated brokers and nurtured a collaborative style with her strong relationships within the industry.  During this time Jane sold 250 Bowery to The International Center of Photography, leased 252 Lafayette to Wildfang, procured the sale of 20-26 Greene Street and then leased both stores twice, most recently to Foscarini and Ksubi.  Jane also sold 19-21 Greene Street as an off market transaction, and engineered the amalgamation of LeSportsac’s office and retail in the SoHo gem that is 32 Greene Street. Jane unfailingly demonstrates that her depth of understanding of all sides of the commercial real estate process and her dedication to providing her clients with the best possible service is her driving force.

Born and educated in the UK, Jane has an Economics degree from Newcastle University.  She was an economics professor and Head of Business in London for 5 years before making the move to New York, where she has lived since 1999.
