Sinvin Signs Hudson Lease

March 21, 2007

One of downtown Manhattan’s leading commercial brokerage firms, Sinvin Realty, known for its trailblazing deals in SoHo and the Meatpacking District, announced that it signed a lease for new office space in 10 Hudson Square that is triple the size of its current space at 180 Varick Street.

The imminent move coincides with former managing director, Christopher Owles, becoming a principal of the company and forming a new LLC with Sinvin principal and co-founder, Bruce Sinder.

Owles and Sinder closed the 10-year lease with landlord, Trinity Church, after months of searching for the perfect space. “Sinvin has achieved for itself what it does for its clients,” said Sinder. “The cobbler’s children have shoes at last.”
Peter Fontanetta of Trinity Real Estate was the in-house representative who negotiated the lease on behalf of the landlord. The asking rent for the almost 6,000-square-foot space on the third floor of this prestigious building, also known as 170 Varick Street, was $37 per square foot.

The Hudson Square district, in which Trinity holds six million square feet in 18 buildings, is a bustling center for business, new residential projects, galleries, shops and restaurants. “We’re really pleased to be staying in the neighborhood and moving into one of the jewels in Trinity’s crown,” said Owles.

The extra square footage will accommodate Sinvin’s rapidly expanding group of brokers, agents, and staff, and provide a hip, sophisticated environment where they can work and entertain clients. Sinvin has contracted David Howell to build out the space.
