Blue Man Group Sells 599 Broadway Floor to Tech Firm

October 13, 2009

599 Broadway

Information technology firm Infusion Development bought the fifth floor at 599 Broadway for $4.5 million from the Blue Man Group, the performance trio of bald, blue men. The 10,000-square-foot deal will allow Infusion to shift its headquarters from down the street at 291 Broadway.

According to Lloyd Desatnick of Jones Lang LaSalle, who represented Infusion in the transaction, the software and consulting firm had been on the lookout for a site for its New York headquarters and was intrigued by the space “located right on a high-profile intersection in SoHo.”

Meanwhile, the Blue Man Group, which previously held three floors in the building, also relinquished the fourth floor to events-planning firm MKG Productions. The troupe will consolidate its offices on the remaining sixth floor. But no reason to be blue: Having owned the space for quite some time, the group still made a considerable profit, despite the recent downturn.

MICHAEL GLANZBERG and CHRIS OWLES of Sinvin Realty represented the Blue Man Group.
