Valley National Bank wanted a former banking location so badly it bought the retail condo at the Art Deco Franklin Tower at 90 Franklin Street where Carey owns the triplex penthouse.Bob Vila also works on his own flat in the building onthe corner of Church across from the Tribeca Grand Hotel.The bank’s condo has 2,500 feet on the street level, 3,500 feet on the lower level with a voult and 1,000 feet of sub-basement space.Roxanne Betesh of Sinvin Realty repped the bank while Stephen Asch of Newmark Retail handled the owner who was asking $2.5 million.
