Andrew Buckler Opening Second City Store in Soho

By Mark Wellborn | May 30, 2007

Andrew Buckler’s flagship New York City store opened at 13 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District (where else?) in April 2005. So, it was really only a matter of time until the British designer invaded Soho with his high-end menswear line.Well, that day has come. Buckler recently signed a 10-year lease on a space at 93 Grand Street, according to Sinvin Realty. The location between Greene Street and Mercer Street will be the designer’s second outpost in the city.”Roguish American icons melded with Brit edge is the look and style that epitomizes the label,” according to a biography of Andrew Buckler. The bio goes on to say that the line is worn by “moguls” like Tommy Lee, Liam Gallagher and the band Snow Patrol. (Note: The usage of mogul here is the latest sign of the apocalypse.)The asking price on the 2,600-square-foot space at 93 Grand was $185,000 for the year, according to Sinvin. No time frame as to when Buckler will move into the new digs, but with the rent there, time truly is money.
